Ivey on the Move

Ivey is crawling all over the place and pulling up on her knees to reach anything she can get her hands on. She found a plastic spoon on the bottom shelf of the pantry and entertained herself for at least 30 minutes this evening. She is such a sweetheart and so much fun! She loves to play peek-a-boo especially when she's up high and we're down low and she can peek over/down at us (in the grocery cart while I'm looking for something on a low shelf, in her high chair while I'm picking something up off the floor, etc). She is happy 99% of the time - laughing, smiling, clapping, and bopping up & down. She is also 'talking' up a storm.

She's had a rough couple weeks fighting a nasty diaper rash that turned into hand foot mouth disease. Plus she cut her top two teeth. I don't think we would have known she wasn't feeling well if she had not gotten a fever. She's a trooper.  I don't know what we have done to deserve such a sweet little girl!

My cousin Anne came to visit me at my new house!

All ready for another day at school

Ivey's Dedication

Ivey was dedicated at our church on Sunday. All three sets of grandparents came to help us celebrate the occasion.

Look Who Started Crawling Today

She crawled in her room with me earlier in the day and then we had trouble getting her to crawl for Joe and the camera later. The bag of chips did the trick!

Ivey Starts Daycare

Ivey got into the daycare right by our new house, which also happened to be our 1st choice of daycares. We felt like we couldn't pass up the available spot and take the risk of her not getting a spot again in January when we had planned to start her in daycare. She started the day she turned 8 months old and we were able to transition her in slowly so she could get used to the teacher and new environment. She seems to have adjusted very well and seems to really like interacting with the other babies.

We've Moved!

We are s-l-o-w-y getting settled in our new house. It is certainly not easy with our little addition. I think I can finally count all of the unopened boxes on one hand, but I will feel more settled once we get some pictures on the walls - hopefully next weekend!

Ivey was a little stressed over the move. She was very fussy the week before the move. The day of the move, we set up her room first and she got so excited when she saw her crib. She must of thought we were planning to leave her at the old house!

I like my Grandma! She feeds me popsicles!

Taking a break on move day!

Daddy is so much fun!

Here is a video of Ivey mealtime. She loves her food!

Busy Times!

Ivey turned 6 months old on July 26th and then her two bottom teeth appeared the next week. She continues to chew on everything including her fingers/hands. Ouch! She has become quite the rolly polly especially in her crib when it's nap or bed time. It entertains her until she falls asleep which means rarely any tears before nap time anymore! Yay!
We have had lots of family visits recently due to the quick sell of our house. Uncle Ken came to get some of his stuff from the basement. Gammie came and kept Ivey for a weekend while we looked for houses and started packing. The Faircloths came the next weekend to use their Carowinds tickets while Gramma kept Ivey and Sarah and Grandad helped with the inspection list. Grandma and Grandpa are coming next Saturday to keep Ivey while we pack the last few items before our move the following Friday. Ivey has no idea what is going on but she loves all the visits! She and Sarah were so cute together. Ivey thought Sarah was so funny. She just kept laughing at her the whole time!
Thanks to all the help, we were able to squeeze another trip to the mountains in before the move. Joe attended a camera clinic at Grandfather Mountain while Ivey and I hung out in the park. Unfortunately, it was pretty rainy Saturday, but Sunday was better.

I guess I am pretty cute!

Look at my fuzzy pink shoes Daddy!

Hiking to the swinging bridge. Unfortunately it started to rain once we got to it and you couldn't see a thing. The rain made for a fun hike back to the car. Ivey fell asleep and didn't seem to mind the rain.

Joe took this picture after his first day of the camera clinic. Pretty impressive!

Sunday at the bridge was very windy. We opted to drive rather than hike this time!
