Busy, Busy Ivey

Ivey is one busy little girl! Some of her favorite activities include climbing the stairs, climbing under the tables and chairs, rolling around on Mommy and Daddy's bed, splashing in the bathtub, dancing to music, brushing her teeth and of course she still loves to eat. More than once she has helped herself to a snack she's found within her reach. She has also become quite the pointer and points at everything she's interested in including the lights, ceiling fans, light switches, preferred snack, etc. She loves to go places and enjoys all the attention she gets. She likes to laugh and will laugh when she hears other people laughing including complete strangers. She is still laid back and easy going most of the time, but she does have her moments when she wants what she wants.

One week she greeted me like this every morning.

Loving my new Ivey sized chair!

Ivey is One!

Ivey celebrated her first birthday on January 26th! Joe and I celebrated with a quick ski trip to Whistler while Gramma & Grandad stayed in Charlotte with Ivey. We took the red eye back and were home before she awoke on her birthday. We celebrated with cupcakes and 1 candle. Ivey devoured her cupcake and got very upset when I took away a chunk of icing she had in her hand. Gramma and Grandad left for their trip to Florida and we had a real party when they came back a few weeks after her official birthday. Ivey was quite fond of her big birthday cake - she keeps pointing to the leftover cake in the kitchen hoping we'll give her another piece!

New Year's and More Christmas

We celebrated the beginning of the New Year in the mountains where it was warm enough to hike but way too wet. We left before the extreme cold settled in - we all can do without temps in the single digits! Then, we celebrated Christmas one more time with a visit from Grandma & Grandpa.
Ivey is getting so big and is turning into a little toddler before our eyes. She no longer drinks from a bottle, has graduated to the big tub, has learned to climb the stairs on her own, brushes her own teeth and hair (sometimes with the same brush), eats anything and everything, dances at the first note of any type of music and is still sweet as ever. I am convinced she understands everything we say and do. She answers my yes/no questions with a nod or shake of her head. She has a little mischievousness in her which we could do without. She shakes her head no and laughs after she does something she knows she's not supposed to do (mostly throwing food on the floor or eating toilet paper). But, she's so darn cute, it really is hard to be mad!

Loves to drink from Mommy or Daddy's cup and is surprisingly good at it.

I love to take things in and out of baskets, drawers, etc.
Mommy loves it when I throw all the folded laundry on the floor.

There she goes...
