Dancing and Trick or Treating

Ivey started dance classes at the YMCA this fall. She was very excited about her dance shoes and outfit, calling them her "ballerina". In the first few classes she would just stand and observe and I was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to actually do the dance moves. She did eventually start dancing and became very fond of her teacher, Ms Meeghan.

We opted to decorate our pumpkins Mr. Potato Head style - much more efficient and much less messy. All four of us went trick or treating together. Ivey was much more interested in talking to people than getting candy. She did not understand why we weren't going into the people's houses.

October in the Mountains

We enjoyed a long weekend in the mountains in early October. Gramma and Grandad joined us for a couple days too.  We hiked a little and relaxed a lot.  The leaves were beautiful but it rained a lot of the time during our visit.

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

We celebrated Sarah's fourth birthday at the pumpkin patch! We had a picnic, went on a hayride, walked through the corn maze, played in the corn bins, rode a cow train and a hay train and played on the swings, see saws and bales of hay. I think everyone had a really good time! It was lots of fun!

We celebrated Gramma's birthday the next day at Outback!

Lovely Quebec City

Joe and I were able to get away on our own in early September for a long weekend to Quebec City, Canada. We had some trouble agreeing on a place to go and we are both glad we decided to go someplace new. Quebec City is beautiful and we really enjoyed exploring the city on foot and bikes. There are really nice bike trails along the two rivers surrounding the city so we decided to bike out to a waterfall about 15 miles away. The hotel provided the bikes and the directions. We ended up biking about 45 or 50 miles roundtrip due to a wrong turn!
