Holiday Activities 2014

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Aunt Jamie's and headed to the mountain house that evening for a long weekend. It was snowing! It warmed up a lot over the weekend and we stopped to find our Christmas tree on the way home. The warm weather after the snow made for a very muddy Christmas tree field! Too bad we forgot to bring the camera along! Our tree was less than perfect and ended up being way too tall. We had to cut the bottom and the top to get it to fit in our house!

Our attempt at a family photo before church - someone was not cooperating!

Apparently this was Silly Naked Dance Day for the girls

Lots of decorations really helped this poor tree actually look half decent

Breakfast with Santa! Julia was not a fan

Our neighbor Conner was not very excited to see Santa either

Halloween 2014

Gammie came for Halloween this year! The girls had a trunk or treat and Halloween party at their school. We made monster pumpkins and played outside with our neighbor Conner before the trick or treating began. Ivey dressed up as a mermaid. The first costume was so long that I returned it for a smaller one and apparently she grew an inch before Halloween! Julia dressed up like Piglet!

NANA

We celebrated Nana's 84th birthday at Jamie's house after the pumpkin patch. We each brought her a mylar balloon so that she would have something to take home as a reminder of her party - she had 14 balloons! It was hard knowing it was probably her last birthday celebration, but I think she really enjoyed it. Little did we know that it would be the last time we saw her. As much as I miss her and know how hard Thanksgiving and Christmas will be without her, I am comforted by the fact that she died peacefully and did not have to suffer. She was such a wonderful person and I will always cherish my memories of time spent with her. We love and miss you Nana!

Every time you asked Nana what she wanted for her birthday or Christmas,
she would always say I don't need anything but toilet paper and paper towels.
She lived a simple life and was so happy.

Pumpkin Patch!

We celebrated Sarah's birthday at the pumpkin patch again this year. So much fun!

I thought we would never get Julia out of this tunnel - she had so much fun
crawling back and forth and would crawl the other direction every time we tried to reach her!
