Ivey, Ivey and more Ivey!

We've been spending as much time as possible in the mountains to avoid the heat in Charlotte. It is usually at least 15 degrees cooler at the condo. Ivey enjoys hiking a lot - but who wouldn't want to be carried in a bouncing chair? Not sure how Joe does it - I used the carrier on a walk in San Diego and only lasted 15 minutes! She weighs 13.5 lbs now.

I went back to work part time June 1. It was tough the first day, but I was fortunate enough to be able to transition slowly by working 1/2 days for a few weeks. Ivey doesn't seem to mind one bit. Her babysitter Julie is great and we are so fortunate to have her.

My new toy in the mountains that I haven't quite figured out
Mommy just uses it as a swing for now which I love

So yummy!

Another new toy

Girls Weekend in the Mountains

Nana, Natalie, Gramma, Aunt Allison, Aunt Jamie, Sarah, Ivey and I spent the first weekend in June at the mountain condo. For some reason Ivey finds it very amusing when people make spitting noises at her. She learned how to spit herself while we were in the mountains and started doing it first thing every morning so we would do it back to her. So silly, but we'll do anything to hear that precious laugh!

Partying in the Park

We went to Dan Nicholas Park to celebrate Jackson's eighth and Adam's fourth birthdays in May. Ivey decided to nap instead of ride the carousel, but she did get to ride the train.

Princess Ivey

Here are some random pictures taken the couple weeks before our San Diego trip. Ivey is really animated and has become quite the squealer. She's using her hands so much now and tries to put everything in her mouth, including her toes. She underestimates the size of her mouth however, trying to get big plastic toys in her mouth that just won't fit!

Ivey's First Vacation

Joe had to go to San Diego for work, so we tagged on an extra day & made it a long weekend.  We were a bit worried about taking a 3 month old on a flight across the country, but Ivey was great on both flights, which the other passengers appreciated. Gramma and Grandad were vacationing in New Mexico, Utah and Arizona right before our trip, so they drove out to meet us, allowing us to go on an anniversary date or two.
We stayed at Mission Beach & were a short walk from both the beach & the bay.  The beach had a great boardwalk and the bay had a paved biking/running trail surrounding it.  It was a constant 65 degrees with light wind.

Ivey's first flight - we were upgraded to first class which was a very nice surprise

We all went to Sea World, but I slept most of the day.
