We've Moved!

We are s-l-o-w-y getting settled in our new house. It is certainly not easy with our little addition. I think I can finally count all of the unopened boxes on one hand, but I will feel more settled once we get some pictures on the walls - hopefully next weekend!

Ivey was a little stressed over the move. She was very fussy the week before the move. The day of the move, we set up her room first and she got so excited when she saw her crib. She must of thought we were planning to leave her at the old house!

I like my Grandma! She feeds me popsicles!

Taking a break on move day!

Daddy is so much fun!

Busy Times!

Ivey turned 6 months old on July 26th and then her two bottom teeth appeared the next week. She continues to chew on everything including her fingers/hands. Ouch! She has become quite the rolly polly especially in her crib when it's nap or bed time. It entertains her until she falls asleep which means rarely any tears before nap time anymore! Yay!
We have had lots of family visits recently due to the quick sell of our house. Uncle Ken came to get some of his stuff from the basement. Gammie came and kept Ivey for a weekend while we looked for houses and started packing. The Faircloths came the next weekend to use their Carowinds tickets while Gramma kept Ivey and Sarah and Grandad helped with the inspection list. Grandma and Grandpa are coming next Saturday to keep Ivey while we pack the last few items before our move the following Friday. Ivey has no idea what is going on but she loves all the visits! She and Sarah were so cute together. Ivey thought Sarah was so funny. She just kept laughing at her the whole time!
Thanks to all the help, we were able to squeeze another trip to the mountains in before the move. Joe attended a camera clinic at Grandfather Mountain while Ivey and I hung out in the park. Unfortunately, it was pretty rainy Saturday, but Sunday was better.

I guess I am pretty cute!

Gramma & Grandad with all 4 grandkids!

Look at my fuzzy pink shoes Daddy!

Hiking to the swinging bridge. Unfortunately it started to rain once we got to it and you couldn't see a thing. The rain made for a fun hike back to the car. Ivey fell asleep and didn't seem to mind the rain.

Joe took this picture after his first day of the camera clinic. Pretty impressive!

Sunday at the bridge was very windy. We opted to drive rather than hike this time!

Ivey Update

It is hard to believe Ivey will be 6 months old next week. She is growing so fast. She's already wearing 9 month pajamas because she needs the length for her long legs. She's been sitting up for a few weeks now and rarely topples over anymore. She is fascinated by her little world and grabs at everything. She especially likes to get her hands on any kind of paper. She loves watching herself in the mirror. She also has become quite fond of bathtime - loves to splash the water with her hands. She's been eating baby food for about a month now - there isn't anything she doesn't eat (yet). I thought she didn't like sweet potatoes, but it was just the ones I made her, she likes them from a jar. Go figure, even a 5 month old knows I can't cook!

Sporting my Italian booties!

I love to eat my toes

Sitting with Mommy like a big girl

My cousin Sarah is very generous - she gives me her old clothes and toys!

Oh boy! I wonder how I can get these in my mouth?

Ivey, Ivey and more Ivey!

We've been spending as much time as possible in the mountains to avoid the heat in Charlotte. It is usually at least 15 degrees cooler at the condo. Ivey enjoys hiking a lot - but who wouldn't want to be carried in a bouncing chair? Not sure how Joe does it - I used the carrier on a walk in San Diego and only lasted 15 minutes! She weighs 13.5 lbs now.

I went back to work part time June 1. It was tough the first day, but I was fortunate enough to be able to transition slowly by working 1/2 days for a few weeks. Ivey doesn't seem to mind one bit. Her babysitter Julie is great and we are so fortunate to have her.

My new toy in the mountains that I haven't quite figured out
Mommy just uses it as a swing for now which I love

So yummy!
