Easter Sunday!

The Easter Bunny came to see Ivey and she was so excited to see all of the things in her basket Sunday morning. It was so cute! We went to church and then headed to the lake to celebrate with Gramma, Grandad, Aunt Allison, Uncle Kevin, Jackson, Adam, Sarah, Aunt Jamie, Uncle Roger, Natalie, Nana and Philip & Val. We had several Easter Egg hunts before it started raining. One for all, one for the boys and one for the girls. Ivey wanted to blow bubbles later, but it was raining. She told the rain to stop and it actually did! She was talking about stopping the rain and finding eggs for weeks.

Charleston in March

We headed to Charleston to help celebrate two big events - Margaret's christening and Anne's 4th Birthday!
Anne's party was at the bowling alley with family and four of her friends. Ivey even got to bowl a few times!

Snow, New Room, Potty Training, Bunny Ears

Here are pictures and a little re-cap from the last three months - February, March & April.

We went to the mountains one snowy weekend in February and we were all excited about making a snowman, but unfortunately the snow was too dry to stick together. Guess we'll have to do that next year.

Ivey got big girl bedding for her birthday and so we moved all of her clothes, toys and things into a new room with a twin bed with rails. She decided her new room was great for everything but sleeping. She insisted on sleeping in her "old bed" each night for the next two months. We added a crib to her new room with toddler bedding in April and she calls it her old bed in new room and happily sleeps in it every night.

Ivey got tubes put in both ears in early March. I insisted she see an ENT after her fifth ear infection in February. The ENT said she was a great candidate since the fluid in her ears was not draining in between infections. She was the best little patient and oh what a difference it made in her speech! She is singing songs and speaking in sentences now. She always asks What is that or Who is that? Not looking forward to the Why questions I know are coming soon.

We had potty training boot camp for four days in late March and Ivey is now diaper free! She was more ready than we even anticipated and is doing so well!

Ivey moved up to a new class at school in April and has started going to school four days a week vs three. She had a rough start as this new class has more kids with a wider age spread. She seems to be adjusted now and plays teacher at home with her baby dolls and bears. She says "everybody clean up" and "No hitting, that is not nice". She also sings new songs that she has learned and it always takes us awhile to decipher the lyrics.

Ivey turns Two!!

It's hard to believe our little girl is already two. We had a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party for her and invited all her favorite people. She had a blast and enjoyed all of the attention. The weather was somewhat of a problem with a wintry mix moving in late afternoon the day before. We had to delay the party by an hour and all was good here in Charlotte several hours before the party, but not so good in Burlington/Greensboro/High Point area. We are so thankful everyone made it safely. After two years of weather issues on party day, we may be celebrating in July rather than January in the years to come.
